Ever come back from the grocery store with an item you already had 2+ of in your pantry? We have! Prevent this from happening by preparing your meals!
This magnetic white board is on our refrigerator. We plan out our meals every week and also jot down any random items we may need throughout the week ie. milk, bananas, coffee, etc.
List out 7 meals. Try to use items you already have in your fridge and pantry. The meals don’t have to be in order Monday through Friday. You can decide the day before what you want to eat (hint: pick your meal the day before in case you have to defrost any meat!).
Make your grocery list using those 7 meals as your guide. What else do you need besides what you already have in your fridge and pantry? I listed numbers beside each item so you can see what we needed for each of our meals this week (we usually don’t do this but it’s easier for you to see!)
Now you have a list of ONLY what you need, nothing extra. This will hep you save on food cost, prevent food spoilage and no more 4 boxes of spaghetti!!
Tip: Try to make extra of every meal so you have lunch the next day!
Tip 2: Take a picture of the white board before you go shopping – this way you don’t have to write everything down again.
